For Better or For Worse: the end is coming

Lynn Johnston addressed a few recent reader comments about For Better or For Worse on her blog yesterday. What interested me most was this quote: "I have a limited time left here and every strip, now, is a statement that leads to the August 30th conclusion."

I think that's the first time I've seen a definite date for the end of the strip. Until now, I've just heard that it will end no later than September. Although, as I understand it, For Better or For Worse won't really end... it's just the current storyline in the present day with Liz, Anthony, Grandpa Jim, etc. that will conclude on August 30.

  1. So, either Grandpa dies on Aug 30 or that is when Liz & Anthony marry.

It's just as well it's stopping, or we'd be reading the Liz & Anthony divorcing storyline next.

  2. Liz- My guess is that August 30 is Liz and Anthony's wedding... and Grandpa Jim is around to see it... and then the current storyline wraps up while he's still alive.

But your idea is much funnier (and probably true).

  3. August 30 is the day that Warren shows up and says "Now or Never, Liz!" and they both fly off into the Great North.

    A girl can dream :)

Seriously, I'm guessing the last frame of the last strip will have the minister intoning the words "For Richer or For Poorer, For Better or For Worse"
