I drew the short straw had the opportunity to wear a costume as part of an event our store was participating in.

Observations I made while I was Curious George:- It's hot in this thing.
- I don't know how those people at Disney do it.
- I can't see.
- It's really hot.
- It's very cute when kids run up and hug you.
- You don't need to smile when someone takes a picture of you.
- Did I mention that it's hot?
You are a great sport! I'm not sure how I would feel about dressing up like that. As you say, though, no one can tell if you're smiling inside. Speaking of, I wonder--when having your photo taken, did you find yourself smiling automatically anyway?

ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! It happened pretty suddenly... the person who was originally going to wear the costume didn't quite fit and I ended up doing it literally at the last minute. I didn't have a lot of time to think about it. Yes, the first time someone aimed a camera at me I smiled automatically. Then I realized how silly that was.

ReplyDeleteHow fun! I used to get in those costumes myself at the library, but then I realized how much teens *love* wearing them. We had the pig from If You Give a Pig a Pancake here the other week, and one night, the teens were actually arguing over who would get to wear the costume. We were able to resolve the dispute peacefully. ;)
